Every process requires an optimum temperature for its maximum efficiency. Similarly , for carrying out photosyntheis efficiently, the plants require an optimum temperature. This optimum temperature may vary with different plants. Photosynthesis will be lowe at temperatures higher or lower than this optimum temperature.

The reasons could be several like at high temperatures, there could be inhibition of Rubisco activase. High temperature may also limit photosynthesis by stomatal closure under photorespiring condition.
