Pair of equation is x+2y=2 and 2x+py=5 has no solution. Find the value of p.

Expert Answer
the equations x+2y=2 and 2x+py=5 has no solution so we have
a1/a2 = b1/b2
substituting the values we get,
1/2 = 2/p
this implies p= 4.
