CBSE Class 12-science Answered
out of 250 employees in an organisation, 55 have salary more than Rs 20000 and 30 out of this 55 are tea drinkers. Also out of 250 employees 150 are regular tea drinkers. what is the probability of selecting a employee who is a tea drinker and salary more than Rs 25000.

Let A be the probability of selecting an employee with salary more than Rs. 20000.
Let B be the probability of selecting an employee who are tea drinkers.
Both these events are independent events.
Number of employees in the organization = 250
Number of employees whose salary greater than Rs. 20000 is 55.
Number of tea drinkers = 150
Number of employees whose salary is more than Rs.20000 and are tea drinkers = 30
Thus the probability of selecting an employee who is a tea drinker and salary more than Rs.20000
