on awhite cardboard ,dots of all the seven colours of rainbow were made.A rectangular glass slab is now placed above it.When we observe the dots through the glass , which colour dot appears raised  the most?Why?

The violet colour dot will be raised to the maximum.
As, μ = real depth / apparent depth.
Now μ is maximum for the violet colour and apparent depth would, therefore, be the least. (apparent depth is inversely proportional to the refractive index) Hence the violet colour (V) dot would be raised to the maximum.
