Expert Answer
Since the heat supplied at a slow rate, the temperature of the gas doesn't change much. It's an isothermal process. And all the heat supplied goes to do the work.
Since the volume of gas supports the weight of the piston, the pressure of the gas is same as weight of piston/area.
Work done = (Force)(Displacement)
= (1 kg)(9.8 m/s2)(0.1 m ) = 0.98 J
Hence heat supplied is 0.98 J.
