not getting the concept of trigonometry

Expert Answer:
Dear Student,
Trigonometry is measurement of angles using functions like Sine, Cose, Tangent etc
and the study of relations between them.
Sine is a function which takes a value and performs an action and returns some value.
Similarly Cosine, Tangent , Cotangent, etc.
For example when Sine takes value of 30 degrees, ie,
Sin (30) we know its value is = 1/2
It comes from the operation/definition of sine function which is :
Sin (angle) = (Height/Hypotenuse) in a triangle
As we relate different sides of triangle, we can relate all these functions to get some standard identities.
These identities can be used anytime irrespective of the angles to solve any question.
I hope this explanation helps, please write if any specific problem is there.
