The ability of the eye lens to adjust its focal length to focus on near and far objects is called
power of accommodation of the eye.The minimum distance, at which objects can be seen most distinctly without strain, is called the least distance of distinct vision. If an object is placed near then this distance then ciliarry muscles are not able to focus and image becomes blurry. This minimum distance is called the near point of the eye. For a young adult with normal vision, the near point is about 25 cm.
