This is essential so that the different body parts can function as a single unit to maintain homeostasis as well as respond to various stimuli. Even for carrying out a simple action, we need the coordinated effort of various body parts. They need to act in an orderly manner so as to complete the action. The functioning of all the body systems also have to be coordinated so that the body can function as a single, complete unit. All this needs a proper control and coordination system in the body.
