Polyspermy occurs normally in certain vertebrate and invertebrate species.
Example - Sea urchins, Xenopus frogs, certain arachnids and insects (such as Drosophila, stick insect, rice weevil), certain sharks, skates, newts, salamanders and certain reptiles.
