A, B, AB and O are the blood groups under ABO system.
Differences between universal donor and universal recepient:
Universal recipient |
Universal donor |
It can receive blood from any ABO blood group. |
It can donate blood to any ABO blood group. |
The universal donor is Type AB. |
The universal donor is Type O. |
It contains both types of antigens on their red blood cells. |
It lacks antigen A and antigen B on their red blood cells. |
