Let the length and breadth of the plot be L and B respectively.
Given,
L colon B equals 10 colon 3 rightwards double arrow L over B equals 10 over 3 rightwards double arrow L equals fraction numerator 10 B over denominator 3 end fraction
Now, perimeter of the plot = 2(L + B)
equals 2 open parentheses fraction numerator 10 B over denominator 3 end fraction plus B close parentheses equals 2 open parentheses fraction numerator 13 B over denominator 3 end fraction close parentheses equals fraction numerator 26 B over denominator 3 end fraction
Cost of fencing = Rs. 50 per metre
Total cost = Rs. 15,600
fraction numerator 26 B over denominator 3 end fraction cross times 50 equals 15600 rightwards double arrow B equals fraction numerator 15600 cross times 3 over denominator 50 cross times 26 end fraction equals 36 space m rightwards double arrow L equals fraction numerator 10 cross times 36 over denominator 3 end fraction equals 120 space m rightwards double arrow A r e a space o f space t h e space p l o t equals L cross times B equals 120 space m cross times 36 space m equals 4320 space s q u a r e space m e t r e
