Expert Answer
The distance which the car travels before the brakes are applied = 25 x 5 = 125 m
We know, v = u + at
so , a = v - u / t
= - 2.5 m/s2
[ negative sign will indicate retardation ]
The distance traveled by the car after applying the brakes = ut + at2 /2
= (25) (10) + ( -2.5) ( 10)2 /2
= 125 m
