Most sugarcane varieties cultivated today are aneuploids and are sterile. However, they grow and perform extremely well and sterility is not of any disadvantage. Why?

Sugarcane reproduces vegetatively from the nodal segments. Therefore, although they are aneuploids and sterile, they perform extremely well.
