Money plant can be grown either in soil or in water. It has three types of roots- One for grasping during a climb, the other two is either water adapted roots or soil roots. If you were to pot the soil grown plant into water, the roots will die off and likewise the other way round.
A money plant reproduces by its stem by cutting.
