The +signs and _ signs used to represents the crests and troughssimply represent the status of the electron wave along the internuclear axis. they have no concern of charges..
When the +part of an orbital overlaps with + part of other orbital (electron waves are in phase),a bonding sigma molecular orbital is formed.
When the +part of an orbital overlaps with - part of other orbital (electron waves are not in phase),a antibonding sigma molecular orbital is formed.
