Rational numbers are those which can be expressed in the form , where p and q are integers and q0.

(a) Numerator is a positive integer and denominator is a negative integer.

Let the numerator be 8 and the denominator be -11

Thus, the rational number = 

(b) Numerator is a negative integer and denominator is a positive integer.

Let the numerator be -3 and the denominator be 17

Thus, the rational number =
