Considering the dimensions of the bed as follows:
Length = 48 inch, breadth = 30 inch and height = 15 in 
Bed os open from top.
Quantity of wood required = Lateral surface area of the bed
= (l+b) + 2(b+h) + 2(l+h)
= (48+30) + 2(30 + 15) + 2(48 + 15)
= 78 + 90 + 126
= 294 inches
