CBSE Class 10 Answered
Medula oblongata coordinates involuntary works such as beating of the heart, breathing, digestion etc..... Then when we tell a person is braindead then will this mean that his medula oblongata is not affected or is still working?
Thank you
Regards: R.Dhanya a student of class 10.

When we declare a person brain dead, all his brain activity is stopped and all the essential functions regulated by the medulla oblongata come to a halt. Although the other organs like kidney, liver and heart might be working for some time, a brain dead person will not be able to survive and will eventually die in some time.
