Dear student

Water level decreases

Because initialy water with equivilent to the mass of stone is displaced and the volume of  water displaced is greater than the volume of the stone because stone density is more.

when finally stone falls in to water , the volume of  water displaced is greater than the volume of the stone the waterlevel decreases
