Expert Answer
Wavefront is an imaginary surface joining all points in space that are reached at the same instant by a wave propagating through a medium. It is an imaginary surface representing corresponding points of a wave that vibrate in unison.
The superposition of light waves helps us to find the resultant of two or more light waves in motion. The word superposition means the mixing or matching, so the superposition of light waves means the mixing of two or more light waves so that we get the combined effect of all the waves. The branch of physics called ' wave optics' is totally based on the superposition of light.
