maam i have aquestion: Does work done by or on an object depends on the frame of reference? If this is so, then will there be work done by passenger sitting in a train: (1)with respect to train (2)with respect to a person on the platform?

Expert Answer:

Yes it does.
I can give u an example to think about regarding that,
suppose u r in a train and the train is moving with a uniform velocity.
Now for a person in that train he is at rest with repect to the train so its Kinetic Energy is zero but for  a person outside the person inside the train is moving with the velocity of the train so he must posses some kinetic energy.
Thus the work done and hence energy content is frame of refference dependent.
