Judge the equivalent resistance when the following are connected in parallel -  1 ohm and 106 ohm

When resistances are connected in parallel, the equivalent resistance is lower than the smallest resistance.
 
In this case, smallest resistance is the 1 Ω resistance, and hence the equivalent will be lesser than 1 Ω.
 
1 over straight R equals 1 over straight R subscript 1 plus 1 over straight R subscript 2 equals 1 over 1 plus 1 over 10 to the power of 6 equals 1 plus 0.000001 equals 1.000001 therefore straight R equals 0.999999 almost equal to 1 straight capital omega
