Earth is a surging point.
Neutral is a returan bath of circuit.GROUND MEANS when small ckt. (control ckt.) are required to
be connected to common is called ground.EARTH mean high voltage (power ckt.) are connected to common
(neutral) is called earth.Moreover, if the earth is always held at a potential, then there are chances of getting shocks.
