If the weight of an object acting downwards is equal to the upthrust acting upwards, the resultant force acting on the object fully immersed in the liquid is zero. In this case, the body is at rest anywhere within the liquid. The apparent weight of the body is zero at all positions inside the liquid. So, the body will float if its whole volume is just immersed in the liquid.
