Is the turbine used in a hydro electric dam same as the one used in a windmill?

Yes, the turbines used in both the cases are same. But they have a small difference in their geometry.In the windmill the curved blades are designed to capture the maximum wind such that they flutter and spin whereas in the hydroelectric they are designed accordingly so that the energy could be maximized.
