Is quality of sound hereditary ?

The basic quality of our voice is inherited from our parents and/or earlier generations. There are many factors involved in deciding the quality of sound such as the throat size, mouth size, tongue, vocal cords and learned or inherited breathing. These factors have some or the other influence and one even can learn to alter the tone, quality etc by going through acting or voice lessons.
