The following are few properties which make Magnetic Lines of Force and its dircetional aspect :
- The lines of force are the lines in any such field the tangent of which at any point will give the field direction at that point
and its density gives the magnitude of the field.
- They represent the direction of the magnetic field.
- The magnetic field intensity depends on the number of lines of force. Lines of force are generally higher at the poles, that is why the magnetic field at the poles are stronger.
- Direction of the magnetic field just determine the polarity (north/south) of the field whereas the strength is dependent upon the number of field lines at a particular area of consideration.
