ideal inductor is the one which does not dissipate power in AC circuit.
dissipating power in any circuit is V2/Reactance
reactance of inductor=?L
so the power dissipated= V2/?L
so as ? is very high in AC circuit, hence power dissipation will be very less.
and also, as L if be high then hence power dissipation will be very less.
that inductor will be an ideal one.
