Expert Answer
When water vapor condenses into a cloud and falls as rain, it releases heat. Hence, the formation of clouds, precipitation, and formation of snow does not involve absorption of energy. When liquid water evaporates, latent heat is absorbed—cooling the atmosphere. Similarly, during transpiration when water is lost in the form of water vapour through evaporation, the water needs to absorb energy.
So, the correct answer is option b.
