Organisms which are single-celled, eukaryotic and photosynthetic are placed in Kingdom Protista because protists are eukaryotic organisms that cannot be classified as a plant, animal, or fungus. They are mostly unicellular, but some, like algae, are multicellular. Example: Algae, diatoms, and euglena.
