- Thanjavur was a pilgimage center as it was a temple town. Here craftsmen produced excellent metal works. They made exquisite bronze idols, ornaments, metal lamps, bells etc.
- Calcutta on the other hand, was a famous textile center whic was famous for spinning and weaving of cloth.
