in what facts does cis and trans isomers differ?

dipole moment of trans is zero or very less while that of cis is non zero or comparatively high.
cis isomer has a higher boiling point while trans has a higher melting point.
This is due to some polarity in cis isomer leading to stronger intermolecular interactions while trans has better packing due to symmetrical structure giving it a higher mp.
