A force  is a push or pull upon an object resulting from the object's interaction with another object.
Whenever there is an interaction between two objects, there is a force upon each of the objects.

Force, in physics, is any action that tends to maintain or alter the motion of a body or to distort it.

The concept of force is commonly explained in terms of Newton’s  laws of motion.

According to Newton’s first principle, a body that is at rest or moving at a uniform rate in a straight line
will remain in that state until some force is applied to it.

The second law says that when an external force acts on a body, it produces an acceleration (change in velocity)
of the body in the direction of the force. The magnitude of the acceleration is directly proportional to the magnitude
of the external force and inversely proportional to the quantity of matter in the body.

Physicists use the Newton, a unit of the International System (SI), for measuring force.

A Newton is the force needed to accelerate a body weighing one kilogram by one metre per second per second.
