Expert Answer:

Tr+1 is general term in the expansion of (1+x)14.
Tr+1 = 14Cr x14-r (1)r  = 14Cr x14-r
x5 occurs in it, if 14 - r = 5 or r = 9
Tr+1 = 14C9 x14-9 = 14C9 x5
Thus, the coefficient of x5 is 14C9
