in elingham diagram why metals at the lower of diagram can reduce metal oxides at top in diagram?

The metal oxide (MxO) is stable at the point in a curve below which ΔG is negative. Above this point, the metal oxide is unstable and decomposes on its own. So, metal oxides at the top are decomposed or reduced.
