Immune system is a complex system of organs and cells  which are specialized to protect our bodies. The lymphatic system, and white blood cells are important parts of the immune system. The  immune system detects a wide variety of foreign substances and pathogens and distinguishes them from the organism's own healthy tissues. There are various layers of defense in our body against diseases. In addition there are various types of immunity like innate and acquired immunity. The humoral and cell mediated immunity play important roles for fighting against infections.
