if we take an equation we write 340 atm or300 atm on the arrow between reactants and products.[ please refer to ncert pg.no.5 eg. 1.11]why do we write so? and what does this mean?

It is the favourable condition that is mentioned on the arrow between the reactants and products. Over here pressure of about 340 atm. or 300 atm. is   required to carry out required reaction.
Consider the following reaction given below.
 
Favourbale conditions:
Temperature : Optimum temp. is 450-5000C
Pressure : Above 200 atm.
Catalyst : Finely divided iron
