CBSE Class 11-science Answered
if we say that like charges attract each other and unlike charges repel each other, how is it possible that in the nucleus, the positively charged protons exist together, so near to each other in such a small place?

There is a force called the Strong Force or nuclear force which holds protons and neutrons together in the nucleus of the atom. This force is much stronger than the force of repulsion of one proton from another proton.
