If we are sitting in a group, one of us starts speaking, sound gets reflectd by some material. Now my question is how can everyone of us (sitting at a corner, back front, side and more) can hear the speech of that person when the source and the reflecting surface are same (if sound gets reflected in a particular direction).

Expert Answer:
Sound waves travel in all directions. So, the sound waves that originate from the source of sound and the sound waves that get reflected, both travel in all direction. But, the intensity of the reflected sound waves varies due to the angle of reflection and the distance between the source of sound and the person.
