CBSE Class 10 Answered
If two vertices of an isosceles right triangle are A(-1,-7) and B(-7,-1) then find coordinates of third vertex of the triangle ABC. [GIVEN angle C=90]

As the angle C = 90o and ABC is an isosceles triangle
Therefore, AC = BC
Take the coordinates of C as (a, b)
By taking AC = BC, we get a=b
Now, apply pythagoram theorem
AB2 = AC2 + BC2
Obtain the value for 'a' and so get coordinates for point C.
