Expert Answer:
Purest form of water is distilled water. Rain water basically consists of gases like carbon dioxide, oxygen, oxides of nitrogen and sulphur etc dissolved in water. The pH of rain water is 5.0 to 5.6. However, it may become acidic mainly due to the presence of sulfuric acid and nitric acid in the atmosphere, which is brought about by mining or combustion of fossil fuels.
