If the mid-point of the line segment joining the points A (3,4) and B (k, 6) is P (x, y) and if x+y-10=0, then find the value of k.

The coordinates of the mid-point of the line segment joining A (3, 4) and B (k, 6) are

Then, = (x, y)

Therefore, =x and 5=y

It is given that x+y-10=0.

So,

3+k=10

k=7
