if pollination occurs between two flowers on the same plant then what do we call such type of pollination? self pollination or cross pollination?

  • If pollination occurs between two flowers on the same plant, it is regarded as self-pollination. 
  • Self-pollination is the transfer of pollen grains from the anther of a flower to the stigma of either the same or genetically similar flower. 
  • The type of self-pollination in which the pollen grains of one flower are transferred to the stigma of another flower which belongs to either the same plant or genetically similar plant is called geitonogamy.
