if one root of the equation 3xsquare+11x+k=0 be the reciprocal of the other,find the value of k?

Expert Answer
3x2+11x+k=0
x2+11/3x+k/3=0
Let the first root is =y
then 2nd root will be = 1/y
as we know product of roots is = c/a
so y * 1/y = k/3
1 = k/3
k = 3
