(ii) Express the following fact in the form of a chemical equation: When a strip of copper metal is placed in a solution of silver nitrate, metallic silver is precipitated and a solution containing copper nitrate is formed.

(i) When a piece of copper is placed in iron sulphate solution then no change will be observed. This is because copper is less reactive than iron, therefore, unable to displace it from its solution.

(ii) Cu + 2AgNO3 Cu(NO3)2 + 2Ag
