i am facing difficulty in this numerical question "AN ELECTRIC LAMP OF RESISTOR 100 OHM , A TOASTER OF RESISTANCE 50 OHM AND WATER FILTER OF RESISTANCE 500 OHM CONNECYED PARALLEL TO 220 VOLT SUPPLY.WHAT IS THE RESISTANCE OF AN ELECTRIC IRON CONNECTED TO THE SAME SUPPLY THAT TAKES AS MUCH CURRENT AS ALL THE THREE APPLIANCES AND WHAT IS THE CURREENT THROUGH IT ??? As all the three appliances are connected in parallel so their resultant resistance will be
1/100 + 1/50 + 1/500 = 1/R
or R = 31.25 ohms
Now as all of them are connected with same source of voltage so the current through them will be
I = V/R
I = 220/31.25 = 7.04 Amperes
If the electric iron is taking the same current as the three appliances then its resistance will be same as their resultant resistance.
