Expert Answer:
37x+41y=70 (1)
41x+37y=86 (2)
Adding both the equations,
78x + 78y=156
78(x+y)=156
x+y=2 (3)
Subtracting (2) from (1),
-4x+4y= -16
x-y=8 (4)
Adding (3) and (4), we get,
2x=10
x=5
From (3), y=2-x=2-5=-3
37x+41y=70 (1)
41x+37y=86 (2)
Adding both the equations,
78x + 78y=156
78(x+y)=156
x+y=2 (3)
Subtracting (2) from (1),
-4x+4y= -16x-y=8 (4)
Adding (3) and (4), we get,
2x=10x=5
From (3), y=2-x=2-5=-3
