CBSE Class 12-science Answered

Human Body is a good conductor of electricity. Then why doesn't a charged body like a plastic rod get immediately discharged as soon as we touch it? Please explain.

The time taken for a charged body to get discharged depends upon the resistance of the conductor. As the resistance of the human body is not zero, so any charged body can not be discharged through it immediately. Only in case of super conductors the charged body can discharged immediately through them.
