How will you convert hexane to cyclo hexane

Expert Answer:

Hexane (C6H6) is converted to cyclohexane (C6H12) by direct reaction with H2.

The process is carried out in a 'Catalytic Reactor' under high pressure and temperature with gaseous hexane and excess hydrogen streams passing through the reactor.
The products are cooled and the cyclohexane gets condensed. Excess hydrogen is separated, recompressed, reheated and recycled to the process.
