If x = 2/4, you can convert it into the decimal form i.e. x = 0.5 and now, you can plot this value of x between 0 and 1 on the number line by dividing x = 0 to x = 1 segment into 10 equal parts and the 5th part would then represent y = 0.5
Similarly, if y = 1/2 i.e. y = 0.5, it will lie between 0 and 1 on the number line and by dividing 0 and 1 into 10 equal parts, the 5th part will represent y = 0.5.
